"The Science Game", Sixth Addition, by Neil McK. Agnew & Sandra W. Pike, ISBN 0-13-098583-X, Prentice Hall Publishing This innovative volume provides an engaging and humorous presentation of various research concepts, methods and applications employed in the social sciences.   The authors discuss not only "how to" but "why" in their coverage of major research designs, techniques and data analysis strategies.

CaseBASE's Statistical Browser is based on information taken from chapters 10 and 11.  Very good, not too technical explanation of descriptive statistics and their application.

   

Web Sites & Shareware

The QA Survey Assessment System (QASAS) A program which is designed to analyze the results Surveys and / or Questionnaires. Although the QASAS cannot analyze all Questionnaires, it is general enough so that it can analyze and produce useful information from many questionnaires. The DOS version has been used sucessfully in the past for such diverse uses as an Employee Morale survey, Quality Assurance Surveys in a hospital and Newspaper Readership Surveys.   This program could very easily be used to analyze quality assurance questionnaires about drug and alcohol treatment services.

This Windows 95 version of the program is being released as shareware (program requires Windows 95 or Windows NT). Users who register the software are entitled to report bugs and will receive the latest version of the program by e-mail or disk. The shareware fee is $50.
