ODBC (Open Data Base Connectivity)
is a specification designed by Microsoft to allow Windows
applications to access multiple data sources through a single
method with no regard to the file format used. SQL
(Structured Query Language) is used as the method for accessing
data through ODBC. Many third party applications, including
Microsoft Access, can open, read and write to database files
through ODBC drivers.
CaseBASE ODBC can be used to pull
any information residing in a CaseBASE database and insert it
into Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and many other Windows based
application programs. Many popular third party report
writers support ODBC such as Crystal Reports. ODBC is even
being used to connect databases to the world wide web for fast
access to up to date information.
ODBC can be used to access
CaseBASE data tables through popular programming languages such
as Visual Basic and Borland Delphi. Write your own programs
that access CaseBASE data directly!
